If you already collect Marriott Bonvoy points, The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection gives you another way to use the program beyond traditional hotel stays.

Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection participates in Marriott Bonvoy, allowing eligible members to earn Marriott Bonvoy points on qualifying cruise fares, earn Elite Night Credits for nights aboard the yacht, earn on qualifying Marriott hotel packages booked through the yacht collection, and redeem points toward eligible cruise fare savings.
But the program does not work exactly like booking a Marriott hotel with points.
The redemption structure is different, the number of points required is substantially higher than a typical hotel redemption, and Marriott Bonvoy points cannot simply be used as a standard award booking for a Ritz-Carlton Yacht suite.
This guide explains exactly how the program works, how much you can earn, how redemptions work, what Elite members receive onboard, and what to know before using your points.
Marriott Bonvoy members can both earn and redeem points with The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection. Members can earn:
5 Marriott Bonvoy points per $1 on qualifying cruise fare paid
5 points per $1 on qualifying Marriott hotel package rates booked through Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection
1 Elite Night Credit for each qualifying night aboard the yacht
Additional points when using an eligible Marriott Bonvoy co-branded credit card, subject to the card's terms
180,000 points = $1,000 off eligible cruise fare
90,000 additional points = $500 off
Additional increments can be used under the applicable redemption terms
Full points redemption of cruise fare may be available on eligible bookings
Points do not cover taxes, fees and port expenses.

Qualifying Marriott Bonvoy hotel packages booked through RCYC earn 5 points per $1. Particularly useful when combining a pre-cruise hotel stay with your yacht vacation.
Cruise fare points: $20,000 × 5 = 100,000 Marriott Bonvoy points calculated on qualifying cruise fare paid.
Hotel package points: $1,500 × 5 = 7,500 points. Combined trip total: 107,500 base Marriott Bonvoy points (excludes credit card multipliers).
Earn 1 Elite Night Credit for each qualifying night aboard the yacht personally paid for and stayed in by the member.
10-night voyage provides 10 Elite Night Credits toward Platinum, Titanium, or Ambassador status qualification.
14-night voyage provides 14 Elite Night Credits. Qualifying hotel packages also generate hotel night credits.
Marriott Bonvoy Elite members receive additional onboard benefits. The current RCYC terms list benefits that vary by Elite tier, including:
Potential benefits include: Private Marriott Bonvoy Elite reception
Benefits can include: Private Elite reception • Choice of in-suite welcome gift
Benefits can include: Private Elite reception • Choice of in-suite welcome gift • Complimentary first-evening laundry pressing
Additional benefits can include: Private Elite reception • Welcome gift • First-evening laundry pressing • Priority boarding and departure • Early access to S.E.A. reservations
Additional benefits can include: Private Elite reception • Welcome gift • First-evening laundry pressing • Priority boarding and departure • Early access to S.E.A. reservations • Complimentary laundry throughout the cruise
Yes, but the benefits are RCYC-specific. Having Marriott Bonvoy Platinum, Titanium or Ambassador Elite status does not mean that every hotel benefit automatically carries over to the yacht. The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection has its own list of Elite onboard benefits.

180,000 Points → $1,000 Cruise Fare Savings, followed by 90,000-point increments for $500 savings. Points reduce the qualifying cruise fare cash balance.
| Marriott Bonvoy Points | Cruise Fare Savings |
|---|---|
| 90,000 | $500 |
| 180,000 | $1,000 |
| 270,000 | $1,500 |
| 360,000 | $2,000 |
| 450,000 | $2,500 |
| 540,000 | $3,000 |
| 900,000 | $5,000 |
| 1,800,000 | $10,000 |
$1,000 ÷ 180,000 = approximately 0.556 cents per point applied toward eligible cruise fare savings.
$500 ÷ 90,000 = approximately 0.556 cents per point for each additional redemption block.
The standard redemption structure effectively values 1 Marriott Bonvoy point at approximately 0.56 cents toward eligible Ritz-Carlton Yacht cruise fare.
Evaluating the ~0.56 cents per point fixed value against your personal travel goals. Compare the actual value you receive with your other realistic redemption options.
You have a large Marriott Bonvoy balance
You specifically want a Ritz-Carlton Yacht vacation
You value reducing the cash price of an expensive cruise
You prefer cruise fare savings over saving points for hotel awards
You have enough points to make a meaningful reduction
You have a limited Bonvoy balance
You regularly get higher-value Marriott redemptions elsewhere
You want to preserve points for another trip
The available yacht redemption does not fit your points strategy
The important takeaway is that RCYC has a separate loyalty structure within Marriott Bonvoy.

Key details covering full point bookings, taxes, port expenses, hotel portions, multi-suite allowances, and travel advisor reservations.

The current Marriott Bonvoy terms state that full Points redemption of the Cruise Fare may be available. However, redemption availability applies to the specific cruise, and points do not cover taxes, fees and port expenses. Therefore, travelers should not assume that every Ritz-Carlton Yacht voyage can automatically be booked entirely with points. [Important: A cash payment may still be required for: Taxes, Fees, Port expenses, Other nonqualifying charges]

Marriott Bonvoy points redeemed through the RCYC program do not cover taxes, fees and port expenses. This is an important consideration when calculating your actual out-of-pocket cost.

This is another important difference. You can earn Marriott Bonvoy points on qualifying Marriott hotel packages booked through The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection. However, you cannot redeem Marriott Bonvoy points for those hotel packages through RCYC. If you want to use Marriott Bonvoy points for a Marriott hotel stay, the RCYC terms direct members to book the hotel through Marriott.com or the Marriott Bonvoy app. [In Simple Terms: Earn points: Yes; Redeem points toward eligible cruise fare: Yes; Redeem points for RCYC hotel package: No; Book a separate Marriott hotel with points: Yes, subject to Marriott's normal award availability and rules]

A Marriott Bonvoy member can earn points on up to three suites at double occupancy, provided the member: • Pays for the qualifying cruise fare • Is booked in one of the suites • Stays in one of the suites This can be particularly relevant for families or multigenerational groups traveling together.

It depends on who actually paid the qualifying portion. The current terms state that points can only be earned by the guest who makes the payment toward the qualifying cruise fare or hotel package. Simply having two Marriott Bonvoy members in the same suite does not automatically mean both members receive points for the same expenditure.

You can book a Ritz-Carlton Yacht through a travel professional and still participate in Marriott Bonvoy. The important requirement is making sure your Marriott Bonvoy membership number is associated with the booking within the required timeframe. The current RCYC FAQ states that members should provide their Marriott Bonvoy number at least 30 days before sailing to ensure eligibility for points. This is particularly relevant if you book through a luxury travel advisor.
Important timelines including the 121-day final payment deadline, cancellation refunds, point transfers, and co-branded card earnings.

If you have already booked your Ritz-Carlton Yacht voyage but were not yet a Marriott Bonvoy member, the official FAQ states that you can still become eligible to earn points on the existing booking if you provide your Marriott Bonvoy number at least 30 days before sailing. [Best Practice: Do not wait until embarkation. Add your Marriott Bonvoy number as early as possible after booking.]

The current terms state that members can apply Marriott Bonvoy points toward eligible cruise fare up until 121 days before the scheduled voyage departure, when final payment is due. This means: Booking the cruise does not necessarily mean your points must be applied immediately. However, you should plan your redemption before the applicable deadline.

Not Through the Standard Online Reservation Flow. The current RCYC FAQ states that Marriott Bonvoy points cannot currently be redeemed directly through the standard online reservation experience. If you want to apply points toward the voyage fare, a Personal Travel Professional can assist with the redemption and apply it to the reservation. This is one reason working with a knowledgeable travel advisor can simplify the process.

Marriott Bonvoy points can be used toward the cruise fare of another guest traveling on the same voyage. If the Marriott Bonvoy member is not traveling on that voyage, the points must first be transferred to the other guest's Marriott Bonvoy account under the applicable Marriott Bonvoy transfer rules.

The official RCYC FAQ states that members may purchase additional Marriott Bonvoy points if they do not have enough points for the desired redemption. The purchase remains subject to Marriott Bonvoy's applicable terms and conditions.

The treatment of redeemed points follows the applicable Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection cancellation terms. The current RCYC Marriott Bonvoy terms state that if a booking is cancelled and points were applied toward the Cruise Fare, the points are refunded before the cash balance, subject to the standard cancellation policy. Also remember: No Points or Elite Night Credit are issued for cancelled voyages.

For qualifying RCYC cruise bookings, the current terms state that points and Elite Night Credits are automatically added to the member's account within 14 days following completion of the voyage, provided the Marriott Bonvoy membership information was properly associated with the booking. [Note: If more than 14 days have passed after the cruise, contact The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection and provide the relevant booking and Marriott Bonvoy information.]

The RCYC terms state that members using an eligible Marriott Bonvoy co-branded credit card for qualifying purchases through Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection can earn additional points according to their card's terms. This means your total points can potentially consist of: Layer 1: Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection base earning Layer 2: Eligible Marriott Bonvoy credit-card earning The exact credit-card earning rate depends on the specific card and its current terms. Do not assume every Marriott Bonvoy card provides the same additional earning rate.
Base earning: $25,000 × 5 = 125,000 Marriott Bonvoy points. Plus 10 Elite Night Credits on a 10-night cruise, plus additional points from eligible co-branded credit card.
Standard increment conversion: 360,000 points → $2,000 cruise fare savings. Remaining cruise fare: $28,000 before taxes, fees, and port expenses.
Understanding annual qualifying spend recognition for Ambassador status and policy constraints for full-yacht charter buyouts.

Ambassador Elite members receive private Elite reception, in-suite welcome gift, first-evening laundry pressing, priority boarding/departure, early S.E.A. access, and complimentary laundry throughout the cruise.

The cash portion paid toward qualifying Cruise Fare and qualifying hotel package rates counts toward the qualified annual spend requirement for Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador Elite status.

Members cannot earn points or benefits on full-yacht buyouts/charters and incentive groups booked through the RCYC Meetings and Incentive department.
