Scenic complements its river cruises with Luxury Ocean Expeditions, Polar expeditions, and Mediterranean luxury cruises.
Both cruise lines excel on these classic European rivers, offering iconic stops like Vienna, Budapest, Cologne, and Amsterdam with distinct onboard styles.

AmaWaterways. Connecting stateroom options and a wide range of excursion difficulty levels make it flexible for family groups.
Both brands consistently rank among the finest river cruise companies in the world. The key is matching the cruise line to your travel personality.
The least expensive option isn't always the best value once inclusions (like Scenic's gratuities and drinks) and overall experience are considered.
The cabin category and deck location can have a noticeable impact on comfort, convenience, and views throughout the journey.
Excursions vary considerably in pace, exclusivity, and cultural depth. Review the daily options rather than assuming they're interchangeable.
Online comparisons rarely capture personal nuances. A luxury travel advisor can match the right cruise line to your specific preferences and avoid costly booking errors.
Booking 9 to 18 months ahead provides greater cabin selection and better promotional offers.
Compare the total vacation cost. A lower initial fare isn't always less expensive overall when factoring in airfare, transfers, gratuities, and drinks.
Luxury river cruises involve many variables beyond choosing a ship. Personalized guidance often leads to a better overall vacation and avoids costly mistakes.
Scenic includes more in the fare (gratuities, premium drinks). AmaWaterways has a lower base price but may have add-ons. Calculate the true all-in cost before deciding.
